Event Marketing Manager

Travel Edge is a $750 million company specializing in Leisure, Corporate & Events, and Tours travel. Our Leisure division has 12 offices in the US, Canada, and Bermuda, with over 750 expert advisors. These advisors have a wide range of specialties including Air, Cruise, Vacation, and VIP travel. Many of our advisors have decades of experience though a growing portion of them are enthusiastic new professionals who have taken advantage of Travel Edge training, tools, support and management to build a new career.

Our Corporate & Events division has 4 offices and 100 corporate travel and events planners. We specialize in corporations looking for a tailored and full-service travel management solution supported by the latest online travel booking and reporting technology.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Event Marketing Manager will be responsible for planning and execution of events working with head office and regional branches to deliver engaging, impactful and on-brand events

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and deliver a range of hospitality, networking, and industry events to support business objectives.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, including budget, deliverables and resource requirements for each event.
  • Manage all aspects of the events including registration, contracts, on site requirements and internal communications.
  • Manage budgets and resources to deliver events to meet market and organizational expectations. This includes working with team members within the industry. organizations as well as Travel Edge regional branches.
  • Establish partnerships and relationships with industry organizations that can contribute to the Travel Edge event goals.
  • Lead, manage, and provide direction to vendors and event organizers. Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to ensure successful event operations and program development/deployment.
  • Innovate by developing special features and programs at events. Ensure these activities meet business needs and expectations.
  • Utilize project management tools for all major event initiatives. Monitor progress and manage to keep production on track.
  • Performs other duties and assists in all areas, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in marketing, events, conferences, and project management. Event management experience is a must.
  • Relationship building, networking and outreach skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills to guide diverse teams towards a common goal.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience with marketing techniques, social media and industry trends
  • Outgoing, self-motivated person with strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates extreme attention to detail and professionalism
  • Collaborative team player who works well with others
  • Ability to travel
